Arrowsmith Engineering is a privately owned company that was established in 1967 and specialises in the manufacture of precision components. Arrowsmith Engineering has a highly skilled loyal workforce with many staff having in excess of 20 years service. They encourage and support their staff for work related and personal education and training. Machining capabilities include both manual and the latest CNC machine centres, being a combination of 3 & 4 axis equipment. Arrowsmith Engineering are continuously investing in new equipment and facilities so by the end of 2008 they will have 5 axis CNC machining capability. Specific machining services offered are milling, turning, grinding, drilling, tapping, thread rolling and slotting together with finishing capabilities. Materials machined range from stainless steel to exotic materials and plastics. Production control is achieved through an MRP system with full materials traceability, certified and bonded components system and data matrix part marking capabilities. Delivery performance to their suppliers is continuously monitored and the latest JIT, Kanban etc supply systems are used. Arrowsmith Engineering have in-house staff trained in CAD design to support their customers together with links to their product inspection system which included CMM and profile checking. They have a dedicated test laboratory equipped with a wide range of specialist services for part inspection, comprising of equipment to carry out thread cut and test, hydraulic pressure testing, dye penetrating and magnetic particle testing. This is used for checking and certifying in-house manufactured work plus they provide a sub-contract service for outside companies. Arrowsmith Engineering has a reputation for producing high quality parts with their Quality Management System being based on ISO9001, AS EN9100 and NADCAP certification approval. In the case of Rolls Royce this includes an on-line link into their quality and supply chain systems. Arrowsmith Engineering have as part of their company policy realised the importance of minimising environmental impact and through their practises been awarded the international environmental standard ISO14001:2004.
