Marketing Medicine to run global dialysis business

Sunday, 04 July 2010 22:27

myM-link member Marketing Medicine, has invested resources into the management and development of a well known brand in the renal world, www.globaldialysis.com making it the latest organisation to come under the Marketing Medicine Group of healthcare businesses.

Global Dialysis was set up in 2000 by Russell England to help dialysis users around the globe find information about dialysing around the world so that they could travel for business and pleasure.  Since then the site has grown to be a leading global resource for dialysis users, centres and the industry.

RandK11June2010The website has an impressive database of over 15,000 dialysis centres in over 160 countries in every continent across the globe.  The site has enjoyed over half a million unique visitors a year with worldwide coverage.  Russell set the site up, very much as a hobby, when his wife, Val, needed dialysis herself and they wanted to travel.  “We just couldn’t find the information we needed to allow us to carry on globe trotting, so I set up the site and it  just grew from there”, Russell comments.

“I met Katy Draper, Managing Director at Marketing Medicine, several years ago now – we hit it off immediately and have kept in touch ever since.  We have often discussed working together and I’m very excited with the plans we are making to develop Global Dialysis”, Russell continued.

Marketing Medicine will be investing in a new site design and many new features for the dialysis community.  “I have already been approached by several major players in both the dialysis centre and dialysis industry worlds that are keen to collaborate and work with us. These talks are starting in earnest and we look forward to significant expansion and job creation in the west midlands.  Our first priority is to get the look, feel and functionality of the site right as well as overhaul the information we are holding on the dialysis centres,” said Katy Draper.

My background and interest in peritoneal dialysis and renal transplants from my nursing work at Barts in London, has already proved to be an great asset. My team understand the specialist needs of dialysis users and are looking forward to developing incredibly useful content for the site.

www.globaldialysis.com will be going through considerable development over the coming months and is keen to speak with medical devices and capital equipment companies operating in the dialysis area. Although this is a global business, Global Dialysis is based in the midlands, and is committed to supporting businesses from our region and helping them present themselves to the global dialysis audience.
