Ascom Wireless Solutions, the UK’s leading supplier of on-site wireless communications has secured a major three year contract in the healthcare market, following a link up with Lichfield-based Marketing Medicine by Life Science specialists myM-link.
With a score of 96.4 per cent, Ascom has successfully won a place under ‘Lot 1 Telecare Products’, on the ‘Buying Solutions National Framework Agreement for Assistive Technologies, Telecare, Telehealth and Telecoaching’. Industry expert Marketing Medicine, which has achieved a 100 per cent success record in 2010 for its public sector tender submissions, compiled the bid, following an introduction by myM-link, the membership division of MedilinkWM. The successful partnership looks set to continue with the next project already under discussion. myM-link manager Sue Wilde said: “It’s very exciting to see one of our members, Marketing Medicine, gaining business from one of our link-ups, and for the association to prove so successful for Ascom is inspirational. By understanding the core strengths of our members, we are able to look for commercial opportunities that are mutually beneficial – matching the right supplier to each company. When Ascom approached us for help with their tendering process, we immediately thought of Marketing Medicine, who have the expertise and inside knowledge to put together a successful tender document. It marks a significant step into the healthcare sector for Ascom and is yet another successful bid for Marketing Medicine.” Katy Draper, founder of Marketing Medicine added: “This is a very useful introduction from myM-link, which enables me to establish a long term partnership with a global company, and that is great news for my company. I worked closely with Ascom to understand the core of their business, and helped them express their messages in a way that matched the requirements of the Buying Solutions team. Ascom has an exceptional product, and it’s very important that they are able to win these bids and bring their innovations to end-users.” Ascom’s UK sales manager Mark Leppard explained: “This represents a significant first step into the healthcare market. Ascom has demonstrated that it has the products and capability to do well in the sector. Ascom put forward their new Telehealth system, a highly innovative and robust management system which combines the functionality of several devices into one, fully-integrated, high quality system, offering considerable price savings and multi-features. Ascom saw the market beginning to focus on the needs of the individual and moving from basic care to helping people to “live”. This move towards “living” means that it is a logical step to integrate alarming, security, automation and services into one solution.
