myM-link member Seymour Manufacturing International (SMI) has secured a deal with the Northern Ireland Blood Transfusion Service to supply thermal bags with a tog rating of 6.6, for transporting blood. SMI’s patented Tempro® is a highly effective insulator, encased with a high quality PVC nylon, making it durable and easy to clean, as well as being light and flexible, ideal for ensuring blood can be transported in prime condition.
With considerable expertise in creating Temperature Control Zones, SMI has successfully diversified from the food-processing and supermarket sectors into the medical market, offering flexible chilled storage space for a range of healthcare applications, including body storage. Brian Seymour said: “We’re delighted to secure this deal with the Northern Ireland Blood Transfusion Service, which demonstrates another medical application for Tempro®. The same technology has been used in our newly launched Compact Mortuary Unit, which is available through Ferno UK, a member of Medilink Yorkshire & Humber.”
