55906 University (Extension) - Bolton


The project contract is approved.  It commenced on 8 February 2010 and is due to complete 8 February 2012.   The project is 4 stories, over 13000 Sqm.  The Project value is approximately £30,600,000   

The scheme comprises of a construction of health, leisure and research centre together with extension of footpath. 

Proposals include an eight-lane 25-metre competition swimming pool with seating for 250 spectators, fitness suite, aerobics studio and community gym.  There will be an urgent care diagnostic and treatment centre, sports science laboratories and teaching facilities. A therapeutic hydrotherapy pool has also been added to the plans. The master plan also includes two sports science laboratories for the teaching of health and sports science.
