54472 Transfer Referral System and Database


Expressions of interest are being invited by the a consortium Procurement Department for the development, implementation and support of an electronic cardiac inter hospital transfer referral system and database.

There is a need to ensure that all patients receive the best possible care in a timely and appropriate way. The nature of specialist services, such as cardiology, often requires patients to be cared for at a number of different locations.
The ability to manage the transfer of patients is seen as a key component in: Improving a patient's experience, increasing efficiency, reducing delays, making best usage of available capacity, communicate more clearly and effectively between the sending hospital and the receiving hospital, undertake clear and timely clinical audit, undertake clear and timely management audit.

Inter hospital transfer is seen nationally as a challenge that needs to be addressed.
The clinical pathways that this transfer system refer to are: Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), Cardiac Surgery, Electro Physiology Studies (EP).

We require a system which can provide, a clinical referral platform, clinical and managerial audit, general communication and document store function based on user privileges.
