55306 CT Scanners

The Trust wishes to explore options for procuring a managed equipment service incorporating a 1 x 64 slice CT scanner with cardiac capability (to replace our existing unit) plus a 1.5T MRI Scanner with breast and cardiac capabilities, together with all associated equipment, consumables and maintenance to support the units.

The new equipment is to be sited in a new location within the hospital so there may be a requirement for the preferred supplier to provide a turnkey solution for all the related building/design elements required. It is also intended to relocate elements of the existing ultrasound service and the equipment involved would be incorporated into the MES.

The Trust may also wish to consider incorporating front of house staffing elements which could involve transfer of Trust staff under TUPE. There may also be opportunities to extend the concept of managed equipment service to other aspects of radiology in the future. All imaging equipment included in the MES scheme must be fully DICOM compliant and enabled to interface with appropriate trustwide information systems including PACS and RIS. The contract period is envisaged as 8 years with an option to extend by up to two further 1 year periods.

Further information and full details of the contracting authority are available on request.
