The contracting authority has recently instituted a global programme of systematic reviews in development to help improve the evidence base for development practice and poverty reduction. Building capacity in South Asia to undertake systematic reviews has been identified as a key intervention in the global programme. Key sectors which have been identified to undertake systematic reviews include health, environment, education, governance, social development and policy, economics, climate change, HIV-AIDS, nutrition and social inclusion.

The contracting authority is seeking to appoint a service provider with demonstrable experience and expertise in undertaking systematic reviews in at least one of the sectors identified to develop a programme of capacity building support in systematic review techniques in key institutions in South Asia. Expressions of interest from consortia are encouraged.
